My neighbors are out of town and there dog is driving me crazy it barks every night 24/7?
my neightbor’s dog barks non-stop, it is so annoying it echoes in my bedroom. I tried earplugs and they are so uncomfortable in my ears when I’m trying to sleep & they don’t even block out the barks really even if I put them in deep which makes it more uncomfortable. I was thinking of talking to them about it & they are out of town. I have to get some sleep, I wake up exhausted with dark circles under my eyes because of that dog. I am not perticularly fond of them because one time when our phone line bled, you could overhear her talking on the phone saying about how her 1 year old baby is sick and you can hear the baby crying in the background and they neglect their dog & leave it outside with a doghouse. She talks on the phone all day. We know this because the work my mom does is medical transcription that goes via phone and she’ll be yacking away for the whole day. Not kidding, obviously the dog has simmilar genes. How do I get some shut eye or get this mutt to shut up meanwhile?

They’re out of town but left their dog unattended in their yard?
Call the police and Animal Control… that’s more than enough for a neglect charge (and a disturbing the peace charge), and the dog will be taken away and, hopefully, your neighbors will be charged.
It’s not the dog’s fault, so don’t be a douche about it. The dog can’t help that it’s neglected and abused.
Well, firstly, don’t blame the dog. It’s not his fault that his owners don’t give him the attention that he needs, and lock him out of the house.
Secondly, it’s wrong that your neighbors went out of town and left their dog tied up outside. Call animal control and complain about a neglected dog (is the dog being fed and watered while the people are out?) and noise complaint.
If it bothers that much, offer to walk their dog when they get back. It obviously needs to expend some of that energy since they neglect their dog and leave it outside in a dog shed all day.
In the mean-time…
I would suggest you take pictures of the dog in the yard while they are out of town. See if it has food and water [which it probably doesn't]. And ask around in your neighborhood if anyone else is bothered by the dogs. Once you have the pictures and complaints from other neighbors, complain to the owners first–so the dog at least has a chance to have a better environment WHILE in its own home. If they do not take better care of their dog, you would then have photo evidence, testimonies, and the fact that you alerted the neighbors about their dog to have to dog removed from their home.
So why not call animal control?
Do you know if anyone is taking care of it??
Maybe you could call a “no kill shelter” if
you can find one, if not, I guess you’ll have to
call the animal cops.
Play a sound machine set on white noise or any soothing sound like ocean waves, buy a cd of soothing sounds, or play a radio set to static. Continuous noise should mask out the barking.
put a sleeping pill in its food!i know its cruel but u have to sleep
if you have proof they neglect there dog you can call animal police on that dog and get it taken away. that would give her a wake up call.
The dog is probably upset about being away from home. A lot of time, comforting the pet and maybe putting it in bed with you may help to comfort it. If it’s just being a brat, get a squirt bottle and squirt him everytime he barks. If this doesn’t help, get some benadryl and give him 1 mg per pound to try and make him drowsy and calm him at night.
Headphones for now.
Talk to them and explain the problem. Your only other option is to contact the proper officials in your area.
Sweet Dreams, and Best of Luck!
maybe you can call the aspca. aka the animal police. they will notify the people who live there. or you could maybe go talk to the dog during the day, maybe that will soothe it. when your neighbors get back, tell them about the dog, tell the next time leave it with a friend.
I agree with On the Radio Uh oh. They should never leave their dog alone while on a trip. It’s not the the dogs fault, it’s the people’s
Who is taking care of the dogs while they are gone? What ever you do, do not put any sleeping pills in its food. I think they are neglected in the first place. If she is at home and does not take care of them, then the animal control needs to know this. I would watch for who ever is taking care of them and tell them. You also need to have a talk with your neighbor about the dogs barking all the time. Tell her if it continues you will have no choice but to file a complaint. It is not the dogs fault and remember that they are the victims here.
try to put poison in the dog’s plate. if he’s locked inside, then burn their house.
