I’m not a parent and don’t plan to become one anytime soon, but I’m always looking forward to having kids.
I’ve lived in some pretty interesting situations, and let’s just say, from some of them all I’ve learned is what NOT to do when raising kids.
The other day I was at my boyfriend’s house, and I noticed that his nine-year-old brother throws around the word “crap” around very nonchalantly. Now don’t get me wrong, I think that at a certain point in your life, you just can’t avoid cussing. It happens at school, unless you go to a Catholic school and even then, wear earmuffs. But I don’t think nine is a proper age for saying “crap”.
Am I too sensitive on this?
What is your opinion?
I think once they’re like, 11 they can say crap. 14 for sh*t. Probably not f*** until 16.
I’m open-minded, I don’t really believe in trying to eliminate these “bad influences” like cussing, sex, and alcohol. I think the key is in teaching them to know how to control the situation.
I think cussing depends largely on your company. Of course I will tell my kids that there are better ways to express yourself.
But, as a rather expressive person with a large vocabulary, I know that sometimes, the bad words just come out.
Honestly, if you used other forms of expression, some people wouldn’t understand you. When I’m with an English teacher, I can tell him/her that I am furious at someone because they are selfish and arrogant.
But if I say that to some people… they’ll just look at me weird. I consider it less ‘posing’ and more adapting to your surroundings to sometimes say “I am so damn pissed at that mother-f*cking b*tch!”

My baby got tube a month ago and today I noticed that his left ear is packed full of waxy goo. It looks like he is wearing an earplug but he is not! He has had a cold and low grade fever this week (he is tething too)
What is the deal with all that thick waxy goo? Is it because of the tubes?

I don’t think they ring without my ear plugs, but when i put them on they seem to be making ringing sounds, why? (The ear plugs are the kids that you need to shape and roll to fit into your ear)

Our sons LOOOOOOVE NASCAR. We’d like to take them to Martinsville, or even some local races. They hate the foam earplugs because they feel weird and fall out. We might be willing to spend some money on this, but not over $50 for both. Are there any earplugs recommended by parents out there?
Just a reminder, these are KIDS, ages 7 and 9. They’re not big kids, either.

My kids and I play music and it gets pretty loud.. My daughter plays the drums and my son and I play the guitar. They are both young enough that I’m worried about their hearing. Any thoughts? Thanks!

On April 29th, my 15 year old sister and I are going to The Bamboozle Roadshow. Forever the Sickest Kids, We The Kings, Mercy Mercedes, Never Shout Never, and The Cab will be playing in an enclosed indoor area. I will only be 12 years old when I go and I was wondering what I should do to stay safe there? Plus, should I wear earplugs or no?

I go to boarding school and like to go to sleep early. I’ve heard that foam earplugs are the most comfortable but wax and silicone ones block out more noise. I hate having to go to sleep and hearing the kids running around and listening to loud music and screaming etc… I was wondering if 1) Do the wax or silicone earplugs work well, and 2) where could I find them?
